Recreational Programs for Girls and Boys

At Sanford Academy of Gymnastics & Cheer, we proudly offer classes that are a both fun and productive. Our recreational programs for kids ages 18 months to 18 years, aim to teach them various skills. Learn more about the classes we offer.

Gymnastics Class for Kids and Teens

TUMBLE TOTS

Start them young! Our Tumble Tots program is a 30-minute session for kids 18 months to 2 years old. The class instructor and parent/guardian will assist participants in our preschool-sized equipment and obstacle courses.

Lion Cubs

Our Lion Cubs program is where kids ages 3 to 4 years old learn techniques without their parents’ assistance. In this class, children will learn balance, coordination, attentiveness.

Tiger Paws

This 55-minute program is designed for children ages 4 to 5 years old. In this phase, students will be introduced to regulation-sized equipment. They’ll begin to learn how to group movements into skills.

Fire Starters

This is our beginner gymnastics class for girls 6 years old and older. Each student will have an experience in four olympic events: vault, bars, beams, and floor. There will also be exercises that involve the trampoline and foam pit.

Intermediate

Once students have completed our Fire Starters program, they will move on to our intermediate class. Young gymnasts will start learning about complex skills and conditioning. Special focus will be placed on correct form and body positions.

Advanced

The highest progression in our recreational gymnastics programs is our advanced class. Here, students will delve into short routines on various olympic events (vault, bars, beam and floor). These sessions aim to prepare children for the Rec. Team, USAG Team, or for High School gymnastics courses.

If your young, aspiring athlete enjoys tumbling and trampolines, this is the class for them! Kids ages 6 years old and up, will learn all proper progressions and techniques related to the two Olympic events.
